BKME is an app that aims to protect the bikelanes for cyclists in NYC, by offering each cyclists a platform to document each violation.
The resulting data is juxtaposed with NYC Open Data- specifically the parking ticket dataset in order to draw relationships between crowd sourced real-time data and enforced regulation. By providing data clustering of problematic areas we aim to help both cyclists and the city with enforcing regulation.

What a great idea!
I bike everyday but more and more I'm worried about my safety and I hope that awareness can be made through simple acts. This app aims with the simplest: a camera and a piece of engagement that permits us to take aim and not feel 100% vulnerable to the big, bad car. If people ask me what I'm doing when I take a photo I tell them "trying to stay alive." And then tell then about how the simplest act of blocking a bike lane makes it really hard for bicyclist to feel protected. On one commute I usually run into 4 - 6 cars in a bike lane. Glad someone is trying to help!

Very good, security for bikers is very important. The possibility to alert those in authority immediately is crucial, for the possibility to escape harm is more limited.
